Something significant is happening in the national conversation as questions once heard primarily at Bible prophecy conferences, in theological discussions and among Christians contemplating the future increasingly intersect with debates at the highest levels of American politics and technology. Artificial intelligence is advancing at remarkable speed, governments are debating how—or whether—it should be governed internationally, and questions involving sovereignty, freedom, and technological power are becoming increasingly consequential. At the same time, even the language of the Antichrist and the End Times has begun surfacing in prominent public conversations.
Vice President JD Vance recently said he does not know whether the world is living in the End Times and cautioned against becoming consumed by such speculation. Yet during a conversation with Christian podcaster Bryce Crawford, Vance said developments in the world would leave him “not shocked if the Antichrist was walking among us.” He also described what he sees surrounding some uses of artificial intelligence as involving “really, really weird spiritual dark energy.” Read the story: Axios
Then, on September 22, President Donald Trump stood before the 81st United Nations General Assembly and made a declaration centered on national sovereignty and international authority:
“There is no global government. And while I’m president, there will be no global taxes.”
Trump then turned directly to artificial intelligence, saying the United States “totally rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme” to control AI. He announced that his administration would begin using the term “superintelligence,” or “SI,” and portrayed leadership in advanced AI as a major strategic competition, while saying the technology should be watched carefully and developed safely and responsibly.
These statements arose from very different contexts and should not be conflated. Vance was discussing theological and spiritual questions, while Trump was advancing political and policy arguments involving sovereignty, international institutions and AI governance. For Christians seeking to understand the times, the convergence of these conversations raises a broader question that reaches beyond any politician, administration or technological development: How do we remain spiritually grounded, mentally alert and prepared to discern truth in a world changing faster than many of us can comprehend? That question lies at the heart of the Battle Ready mission.
Scripture does not call believers to panic when the world becomes uncertain, nor does it call us to complacency. Instead, it calls us to watchfulness, discernment, courage, prayer and faithfulness. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13, ESV ).
In an age increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, information warfare, geopolitical instability and profound cultural change, those words carry renewed relevance. The challenge for believers is not merely to interpret every headline or determine exactly what may be coming, but to develop the spiritual strength and discernment necessary to remain faithful through whatever comes. That is where being Battle Ready begins.
Against this backdrop, Pastor Paul Begley and I (Troy Anderson) just launched the Save America Rescue Operation — 40 Days of Prayer, Fasting and Repentance, a Christian prayer initiative prior to the November 3 midterm elections.
The initiative, similar to the “40 Days to Save America” initiative we called for prior to the 2024 Presidential Election, calls on followers of Jesus to pray for America, its leaders and citizens; seek personal and national repentance; pray for churches, families and young people; seek wisdom and peace; and pray for spiritual awakening and revival.
The initiative is a Christian prayer campaign rather than an endorsement of a political party or candidate.
“Our ultimate hope is not in Donald Trump, Washington or any human government,” Anderson said. “Our hope is in Jesus Christ. We believe the appropriate response to these extraordinary times is prayer, repentance, discernment, courage and a renewed commitment to the Gospel.”
Begley added: “God is calling the Church to wake up. This is not the hour to sit on the sidelines. It is the hour to pray and go vote.”
The Battlefield Is Changing
For generations, national preparedness was understood largely in physical terms: maintaining military strength, securing borders, protecting critical infrastructure, preserving economic stability and ensuring that a nation could defend itself against foreign adversaries. Those concerns remain vital, but the battles of the twenty-first century increasingly extend into another domain—the human mind and the information environment that shapes what people see, believe and ultimately trust.
Artificial intelligence has dramatically expanded those challenges. AI systems can generate increasingly convincing text, voices, photographs and video, while digital platforms can distribute information around the world within seconds. Algorithms help determine what millions of people encounter online, even as governments, corporations and citizens wrestle with difficult questions involving surveillance, privacy, cybersecurity, misinformation and the appropriate limits of technological power. None of this means that artificial intelligence should automatically be interpreted as the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, nor does the Bible identify any modern technology by name. Yet the extraordinary pace of technological development raises profound questions about truth, authority, and human freedom, particularly as the ability to create, manipulate and distribute persuasive information becomes more powerful and accessible.
For Christians, this means preparedness cannot consist merely of following geopolitical developments, monitoring technological advances or preparing practically for emergencies. Battle readiness also requires spiritual discernment—the ability to distinguish truth from deception, wisdom from manipulation and legitimate evidence from speculation. The Apostle Paul reminded believers that the struggle described in Scripture ultimately extends beyond the visible conflicts of the physical world:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” — Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
Paul’s words do not mean that every political conflict, technological development or troubling headline should be assigned a supernatural explanation. Rather, the Bible teaches Christians to recognize a spiritual dimension to human life while exercising wisdom, discernment and careful judgment about events in the physical world. That balance is increasingly important in an information environment where verified facts, misinformation, political messaging, and spiritual interpretations can circulate side by side—and reach millions of people almost instantaneously.

Vice President JD Vance’s remarks about the Antichrist should not be transformed into a declaration that the Antichrist has appeared. President Trump’s rejection of “global government” should not be treated as proof of a particular interpretation of biblical prophecy, and the extraordinary development of artificial intelligence should not automatically be labeled a fulfillment of Revelation. Those conclusions would go beyond what the available evidence establishes. Yet exercising caution does not mean ignoring developments that deserve thoughtful attention.
A sitting vice president has publicly discussed the possibility of the Antichrist and expressed spiritual concerns about aspects of artificial intelligence, while a president has stood before the United Nations discussing national sovereignty, global governance and the future of advanced AI. At the same time, technologies capable of transforming information, national security, warfare, economics, communication and everyday life are advancing at remarkable speed. These developments arise from different contexts and do not constitute a single prophetic narrative, but together they underscore how rapidly the political, technological and cultural environment is changing.
For Battle Ready Christians, the proper response to that uncertainty should not be fear, sensationalism or endless speculation. It should be readiness—knowing what we believe and why we believe it, strengthening our families, guarding our minds, testing what we hear, praying for wisdom and discernment, serving our communities and remaining deeply anchored in Jesus Christ. Christians do not need to understand every emerging technology or correctly interpret every geopolitical development in order to live faithfully. We do, however, need the spiritual maturity to distinguish truth from deception, courage from fear and careful watchfulness from speculation.
This is why the Battle Ready mission ultimately reaches beyond any particular president, vice president, election, technological breakthrough or international crisis. Governments change, political movements rise and fall, technologies advance, and tomorrow’s headlines will eventually replace today’s. The Christian mission, however, remains rooted in something far more enduring: to love God, love others, proclaim the Gospel, pursue truth, serve faithfully and stand firm in Christ regardless of what circumstances arise.
Whatever the next chapter brings, now is the time to deepen our faith, strengthen our families, sharpen our discernment and prepare ourselves to become sources of courage and hope for others. We cannot know every challenge the future will bring, but we can decide how we will meet it.

A Prayer for Courage, Discernment and Spiritual Readiness
Heavenly Father,
In a world changing faster than we can fully understand, help us to keep our eyes fixed on You. Give us wisdom to recognize truth, discernment to identify deception and courage to stand firm in our faith without being overcome by fear.
Strengthen our families, protect our minds and guide us by Your Word and Your Holy Spirit. Teach us to test what we hear, to pray before we react and to walk in wisdom, humility and love. When the voices around us become confusing, remind us that Jesus Christ remains our firm foundation and that Your truth does not change.
Prepare us for whatever lies ahead—not so that we may live in fear of tomorrow, but so that we may faithfully serve You today. Help us to put on the full armor of God, carry the hope of the Gospel into a troubled world and become sources of courage, truth, compassion and peace to those around us.
Make us watchful. Make us prayerful. Make us courageous. Make us faithful. And prepare us to stand.
